I’ll be the first to admit, I don’t know much about football. Especially Dutch football! So after being commissioned to interview Dutch legend, Memphis Depay, for the cover story of Schon! magazine, I got my head down to do some research.

Thankfully, there was lots to find out! Not only known for his skills on the pitch, Depay has a huge following as a rapper- just check out his Insta to see his antics.

But even more relevant, for the “Giving Back” issue of Schon! magazine, he funds an orphanage in Africa.

Taking a dip in the Med might still be a dream for all of us based in the UK, during the pandemic, but our waters are warming up and there’s no excuse not to look great on your isolation swim in Costa Del Bournemouth.

One way to wow, is by choosing discerning swimwear- that is kind to the environment at a time when everything is topsy turvy.

TUCCA Swim is a new brand by sisters Helaina and Chloe Thomas, who have pioneered materials from the oceans to create a super soft recycled nylon, made from plastic bottles.

The days are getting longer and the sun is peeking out, so lockdown or not, it’s nearly time to get your legs out!

You may already have adopted an exercise routine that fits with your current situation, or you may not! I’m not judging. But if you are looking for some inspiration, check out this Brazilian goddess Juliana Campos on Insta..

Meet my first Talking Travels and other stuff guest….

Destination photographer Natalie J Watts AKA Natalie J Weddings.

So, along with the rest of the world, I have been trying to remain positive during lockdown and have been exploring different avenues for my creative output as I haven’t been able to enjoy my usual jetset lifestyle (the garden and dog walking in the park don’t count!)

Podcasts have been part of my life for a while, and I love listening to people chat- it’s like eavesdropping but much more targeted!

So, as I like to chat (and to keep myself motivated), I got a mini podcast kit from Shure and got busy learning how the wibbly wobbly world of the Pod works. Actually, with this kit, it was remarkably easy! The very dinky microphone plugs into your smart phone, which slots perfectly into the table top tripod, so you can self-record video or do voiceovers of scenery at the press of one button. As the footage the saves into your iPhone photos, the conversion to a podcast is easy peasy!

My long term intention is to interview guests on my travels face to face, but for the moment, I have guests lined up for recorded isolation chats.

Listen to my maiden voyage with Natalie, and let me know what you think!
