Alex Noble x TraidRemade

Comments Off on Alex Noble x TraidRemade fashion, my words, news, Stylist

I was lucky enough to attend the launch of the Alex Noble x Traidremade pop up store last week.

As to be expected, the edgy designer has created a capsule collection of 14 unisex pieces made from up-cycling and customisation.

The mainstay were denim mash ups with paint splats and clashing prints, which took inspiration from 1980’s style icons Neneh Cherry, Sade and Willy Cartier- back in the decade when fashion was loud. And fun!

With prices starting at £65, these pieces of live art will look better with age, and you can feel good and look good too!

The collection will be exclusive to Traidremade, a new pop-up shop on Berwick Street which is open until June 13. All profits will go to a TRAID-funded project in Bangladesh that provides day care, nutritious food and education for 140 children of garment workers.

Sharing the Orla Kiely Love!

Comments Off on Sharing the Orla Kiely Love! fashion, my words, Stylist, womenswear styling

Personally I am obsessed with Orla Kiely designs. So simple, retro inspired and feminine. Perfect for styling up or down.

Coupled with some amazingly inventive catwalk shows and presentations, the homeware and soft furnishings take vintage inspiration to a new level.

And if it’s good enough for Kate Moss and Taylor Swift, it’s a cool label to know!

It’s all about the menswear

Comments Off on It’s all about the menswear 55Factory, fashion, menswear fashion styling, my words, Stylist

This week has involved alot of menswear. In extreme forms! It was a delight to style those cheeky scamps- The Garden Twins for the cover shoot and feature for the next issue of 55Pages magazine with my partner in crime Christopher Sims.

Being complete clothes horses (and identical apart from the hair do!) they were up for anything, and true model pros. Well they have already been snapped up by Raf Simons to walk the catwalk for Saint Laurent! Hailing from Orange County, they have a laid back attitude and a certain je ne sais quois. I personally dig a man in an earring- reminds me of Spandeau Ballet, and being very open-minded, they were delighted with my Dressing Up Cupboard, so lots of fun was had by all….Watch this space for a sneaky peek and issue nine of 55Pages will hit the catwalks in time for London Fashion Week in September.

The next shoot was for Men’s Health, so a very different kettle of fish! It was tops off all round for the boy band boys who had undertaken a ten week challenge. Rippling muscles and bulging biceps a-go-go on Shane Lynch et al. It was a Westlife versus Boyzone arm wrestle. I wouldn’t like to say who won- but check the August issue of Men’s Health mag and judge for yourself!

?It was also great to hang out with Bez from Happy Mondays at the super cool A Child of The Jago launch. He loves 55Pages and has some very interesting projects we might get involved with for the next ish!

Today is a day of Press Days and Pulling!

Comments Off on Today is a day of Press Days and Pulling! 55Factory, fashion, menswear fashion styling, my words, style

It seems like I haven’t had a day to trot around London in ages! So I have to choose the rainy one, but c’est la vie! I am hoping to catch up with a couple of fave PRs to check out their AW collections, before heading East to pull for my cover shoot on Sunday. Did someone say multi-tasking Queen?!

I am excited to be starting the next issue of 55Pages. The cover artists are uber cool LA band The Garden, who I am styling and interviewing! I am starting to get the copy in too, so the wheels are in motion.. Watch this space, it’s gong to be a goodie!

Riding Horses like there’s no tomorrow!?

Comments Off on Riding Horses like there’s no tomorrow!? travel

Growing up at the seaside ?I was more of a beach babe than a country bumpkin so owning a pony was never in the equation.. However I did have a go on a donkey once. (I believe it was a holiday in Bognor when I was 11 but we won’t mention that!!)

So with fringing and tassels so SS15, I jumped at the chance to dig out my best suede-ette waistcoat and checked shirt to try out a pony for size at the Trent Park Equestrian Centre in Oakwood.

Invited by AviaCircle PR, a gaggle of journos turned up in highly innapropriate footwear to take part in the Visit Idaho #IDAHOrsing event.

Apparently riding is THE thing to do in a county *with flattened out mountains,? would be the size of Texas!! And that is pretty ginormous!

With plenty of mountains, lakes, lush greenery and wildlife to gallop through, I’m not surprised..It’s great weather also has a big potato population… And the wine is pretty tasty too.

Perfect for a family holiday I’m informed. Just need a few more goes on Huey the wonder horse and I’ll be confident at tackling anything!

Things are hotting up in Darlingland (erm Brockley) and the sun is making the boys of da hood very happy! It also makes them think of a lighter jacket for the warmer weather.. So say hello to the latest on the lust list with this spangly metallic design from G-Lab.

Check it out on 55Factory here….

Vote for Lagerfeld: The ultimate creator of uneccesary necessities!

Comments Off on Vote for Lagerfeld: The ultimate creator of uneccesary necessities! fashion, my words, Stylist, womenswear styling

The double C Chanel logo is infamous, and it’s appeared in some rather random places recently! Has Uncle Karl gone bonkers?? Or do the buying public really need a Chanel Miami lifebuouy?
Although that is perfect for my yacht in the south of France dahhhhling!

My personal fave is the dinky embellished shoe purse. For those who own Chanel surely must need somewhere to keep their small change ??
